Ingredients and Functions

ZINC OXIDE

Micropigment (fine powder) of mineral origin that absorbs, reflects, or scatters UV radiation, thereby protecting the skin. It has mild astringent and antiseptic properties and is resistant to bacteria and fungi, promoting wound healing and used in the prevention or treatment of diaper rash. It creates a protective barrier on the skin that is moisture-resistant; unlike synthetic sunscreens, it does not penetrate the skin, and its effects are much gentler. In the Badger infant sunscreen, you will find this type of zinc oxide, namely uncoated, non-nano, pharmaceutical-grade zinc oxide.

SUNFLOWER OIL

Cold-pressed oil from sunflowers grown in Germany (USDA certified Organic, guaranteed highest quality). This oil provides a robust and stable base with a smooth consistency for easy application. Badger chose sunflower oil for its light weight, excellent absorbability, and high content of naturally occurring vitamin E, which acts as an antioxidant. It is also a source of essential fatty acids that keep the skin soft and supple.

BEESWAX

Sourced from Canada, Australia, or Africa (USDA certified Organic, guaranteed highest quality). Pure golden beeswax reduces moisture loss from the skin and has an almost immediate soothing effect on cracked skin and wounds. It smells sweetly of honey, and Badger uses it for its aforementioned properties and as a natural thickener.

VITAMIN E

Derived from sunflower oil, antioxidant.

SEA BUCKTHORN

CO₂ extract sourced from Lithuania (USDA certified Organic, guaranteed highest quality). Sea buckthorn is rich in vitamins B, C, D, and E (a potent antioxidant), and also contains minerals and beta-carotene. It has antibacterial and antiviral properties, helps cell regeneration, thus acting against wrinkles, firms tissue, and soothes the skin. It is very effective on sunburned skin.

Squeeze the tube a little before each use to mix all the ingredients. For total protection, apply the required amount (2mg/cm2 of skin) of the product at least 15min before exposing to the sun on exposed skin, and massage thoroughly into the skin to reduce the bleaching effect of zinc. Allow the product to absorb into the skin before putting on a shirt or dress to avoid potential grease stains on clothing.

Reapply after 40 minutes of sweating or swimming. After wiping with a towel, apply immediately, otherwise reapply every two hours.

Do not expose yourself unnecessarily to the strongest sunlight, especially between 12 and 3 pm.

The Badger brand is a small, family-owned business based in the wooded state of New Hampshire (USA). It was founded in 1995 by Bill Whyte, who was working as a cabinetmaker at the time.
